About AP Productions

Ascending Phoenix Productions is a Cape Cod-based company dedicated to creating unique experiences for our local community and beyond. 

Founded in 2025 by Dean and Tamora Israel, Ascending Phoenix Productions specializes in hosting live social events and staged theatre performances.

Our vision is to build a performing arts studio that provides an affordable space for local and regional artists to create and produce live theatre in a positive and collaborative place. with a focus on the Black Arts Movement.

Tamora Israel is a poet, interdisciplinary artist, performer, and cultural organizer, and Co-CEO of Ascending Phoenix Productions, whose work lives at the intersection of art and activism. 

A dynamic presence on and off the stage, Tamora has performed, collaborated, organized, and produced live social, political, and musical events, theatrical productions, and immersive art installations throughout the region. 

Her civic engagement extends to board leadership as a founding member of The Cordial Eye and Amplify POC Inc, where she continues to serve on The Cordial Eye Board and on the nominating committee for Amplify POC. She also sits on the Board of Provincetown Television, further expanding her impact across regional arts and media.

In recognition of her artistic excellence and community leadership, Tamora was honored with the 2024 Black Excellence Award by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus, celebrating her contributions to education, culture, and activism.

Dean Israel is a recent Cape Cod “wash-ashore,” originally from Springfield, Massachusetts. Having spent much of her adult life as a Community Service Officer, she has been deeply committed to serving and uplifting her community.

Now emerging as an entrepreneur, director, creator, and event organizer, Dean brings that same dedication to the Cape Cod arts scene. Poetry From My Brain Parts marks her second directorial project; she previously co-directed the production’s third iteration and is also running sound for this current staging.
